What is Oktoberfest?

Oktoberfest is an event known for its lederhosen, low-cut dresses and a lot of German beer.

The German beer festival is a celebration of Bavarian history, launched in 1810 in honour of the Crown Prince Ludwig’s marriage to Princess Theresa von Sachsen-Hildburghausen.

How it Oktoberfest celebrated in the UK?

Oktoberfest is no longer a Bavarian tradition.

London Oktoberfest 2018 is taking place in Millwall Park and Finsbury Park.

Giant tents will be set up to mark the occasion, with live Ompha-Ompha music, bratwurst and German beer.

More than 50,000 people turn up to the event each year.The event will take place in Millwall Park on October 4-7 and October 11-14.

London Oktoberfestival is currently underway, and is going on from September 28 until October 26.

This is being held at 26 Leake Street – a 1,200 capacity venue.
